COUNTRY HOUSE

This country house renovation had the purpose of inserting a contemporary feeling into an old and rustic structure. The original building (that couldn’t be changed by law) wasn’t open toward the outside garden and had narrow windows that didn’t let the light in. Through the use of designed artificial light and the creation of light walls, the interiors perception has been deeply changed.

La ristrutturazione di questo casale ha voluto creare all’interno di una struttura esistente protetta e immodificabile, un’atmosfera contemporanea. L’edificio originario non era aperto verso il giardino circostante e le finestre, piuttosto piccole, non lasciavano filtrare luce a sufficienza. Attraverso un progetto illuminotecnico attento alla peculiarità della situazione, sono stati creati effetti di luce (light walls, nicchie illuminate, ecc) che hanno profondamente modificato la percezione stessa degli ambienti.

TRASTEVERE LOFT

The apartment situated in the heart of the Trastevere section of Rome and seeks to provide a contemporary ambiance in an ancient setting. The project incorporated several tiers, including a bedroom loft, which established separate living and working areas. To further differentiate the room, various colour schemes were utilized, creating subtle barriers and eccentuating certain perspectives. Finally the architect united the unique areas by bringing in light and emphasising the quintessential view of the surrounding Roman rooftops with a prominent glass door leading to the garden terrace.

Il progetto di questo appartamento situato nel centro storico di Roma, ha l’obiettivo di creare un’atmosfera contemporanea all’interno di un’antica struttura architettonica. Lo spazio, non separato da partizioni, è stato organizzato sfruttando la doppia altezza del volume e differenziando le aree funzionali attraverso colori accesi. L’ampia finestra vetrata che si apre sul terrazzo, include lo spazio esterno nella zona abitativa che si offre così alla vista dei tetti di Roma.
